#Beautyhacks: Lashes

Nicki Minaj once said: “Everyone knows I’m a lash girl by now. When I don’t have my lashes, I feel naked” I have to admit: This quote could have been from me. Unfortunately, I’ve been part of the straight lashes club all my life. So after trying out pretty much every tipp that I have found online, here are the ones that have really helped me step up my eyelash game:

Waterproof Mascara

I have already owned so many mascaras in my life – from High End to drugstore, from large round wands to curved brushes. But the only type that really holds the curl is waterproof mascara. Random fact: The first waterproof mascara was invented by Helene Winterstein-Kambersky in the year 1935. 

The Heated Eyelash Curler

All you need is a blow-drier, an eyelash curler and mascara. Start by curling your lashes and apply a small amount of mascara. Then heat up your eyelash curler with a blow-drier until it’s warm. Prevent burning your eyelid by pressing the heated eyelash curler on the back of your hand. That way you can test how hot is is. Continue with curling your lashes one more time – and be gentle! Apply another thin layer of mascara and you’re done! Your lashes will be looking bangin’. I promise!

Curling Techniques

Now that we mentioned the right mascara it’s time to talk about curling the lashes. Many girls tend to underestimate the power of the right curling technique. But no worries girl – I got you! Don’t only curl your lashes right at the lash line but also at the tips and throughout the lengths. I prefer to start curling at the tips of the lashes and work my way to the lash line. Fake Lashes

Although all these tipps are amazing for an everyday make up, nothing works better than using false lashes. I personally prefer the Ardell Demi Wispies but there are a ton of affordable and great lashes out there,too! If you are new to using falsies I suggest you go for natural looking ones first. After adjusting them to your eyes apply the glue. Wait for it to dry a little bit, then put the lashes as close to the lash line as possible. It does take some time to get used to it but you’ll get the hang of it fast! Since I like to reuse mine as long as possible (ain’t nobody got money for that, right?) I remove the excess glue with a tweezer and curl them again before putting them on another time.
